Parents and tutors give different reasons for homeschooling their children. The study also indicates that public school performance gaps between minorities and genders were virtually non-existent among the homeschooled students who took the tests.

As such, International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) becomes increasingly popular as homeschool curriculum due to its high quality syllabus and being recognized worldwide.
Another important advantage of choosing IGCSE as homeschoolers’ curriculum is, homschoolers could sit for exams at any time whenever they are ready for exam, and in any British Councils worldwide. IGCSE exams schedule are available twice a year, in May/June or in October/November.
Homeschooling is legal in many countries including Malaysia. Countries with the most prevalent home education movements include Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, and the United States. Some countries have highly regulated home education programs as an extension of the compulsory school system.
