About

About

Sri KDU International School

Welcome to our vibrant school community! Sri KDU® International School has a very bold ambition: “To be the best international school in the world”. We believe in high expectations for ourselves and our students hence such an aspiration. Even if we do not achieve this ambition, we believe through striving for it, we will achieve the very best possible for our students; we believe that it is the journey, rather than the destination, which is important. We judge how close we are to achieving this goal by finding out how our students feel about their educational experience.

We promote a spirit of excellence in all that we do. This can be evidenced through the outstanding academic outcomes for our students at both IGCSE and IBDP levels as well as through the achievement of the Gold Award for the International School Quality Mark (ISQM), the highest level of award, given by the Educational Development Trust, who confer this award to international schools in the UK and around the world. We were the first international school in Malaysia to achieve the Gold Award for ISQM. The school is also judged to be excellent by Malaysian standards, with the award of Five Stars, by the Ministry of Education at the last inspection (Pemeriksaan Standard Kualiti Institusi Pendidikan Swasta).

It is the development of each student, in a holistic way, rather than solely the academic outcomes which leads to the school achieving such accolades. We believe in celebrating all of the talents of our students through a comprehensive sports and Co-Curricular Learning Programme (CCL). Students have the opportunity to participate in a wide range of competitions and events through FOBISIA (Federation of British International Schools in Asia) and through AIMS (Association of International Malaysian Schools); both of these prestigious bodies have high standards of membership criteria, so it is another confirmation of the excellence of the school that we meet those standards for membership. Each year, students have a unique opportunity to participate in the Paramount Championship; this is an amazing talent competition organised completely by students for students. There are categories of the competition to suit a wide range of talents, including Chinese Calligraphy, Culinary, Solo Singing, Modern Dance and Public Speaking, to name but a few. From Year 1 through to Year 13, students have many opportunities to excel in the creative arts, sports and service activities.

The international school motto is “Tomorrow’s Leaders, Here and Now” so we promote leadership skills in every student, every day. This starts in the classroom where our pedagogy “Building Learning Power” encourages all students to lead their own learning. We believe in a growth mindset which means we believe that every student has the capability to achieve and to be a leader. As well as being a golden thread, which runs throughout the curriculum and co-curricular learning, there are specific high quality programmes which students can follow to develop their leadership skills, such as the Duke of Edinburgh International Award, Leo Club, Eco-Schools Programme and PTPI ( People-to- People-International). Through these programmes and the school ethos, we aim to provide a values-7 led education which develops future leaders, of Malaysia and the world, who can lead with wisdom and compassion.

We are proud to be part of Paramount Education as the group promotes the values of Trust, Respect, Integrity, Bravery and Energy to all who form part of the TRIBE. We are also proud to be part of KDU Schools SDN BHD as KDU has been recognized for providing quality education in Malaysia for over 30 years. The motto of the KDU Campus, which we also subscribe to, is “Malaysian Hearts, Global Minds”; this means that students attending our school get a high quality British education with a Malaysian favour. We celebrate Malaysian culture and teach all students, whether they be Malaysian or “adopted” Malaysians, to recognize what makes a Malaysian heart. The focus on “Global Minds” also allows our students to develop into young people who can take their place in the global arena and make a difference in the world.

I hope that whilst exploring our website you will be able to see how we live the ambitions, mottos and values described in this message but please do come and visit our Kota Damansara campus to find out more. Visitors are always welcome.

“Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world”

Worst nightmare ever enrolling to this school! Came here last year during form 4 and I have been feeling regret ever since to change into this school. School surrounding might look nice but it's not, most of the time lack of maintainence and cleaning, only when one day before result day or open day (when parents would come) , only then they start to change the bulbs and clean the whole school thoroughly. Most of the teachers sucks, many of them are new teachers and don't have any experience at all, really frustrated they didn't treat spm students seriously. The cafeteria is the worst, the food is very very untasty and super expensive. When you complain to principal,he would just ask you to take our own food to school. The management, teachers, facilities are all sucks, when air conditioner is broken,it really takes a long time to fix, lousy school ever !Really don't understand why stupid people afford to pay 25k+ to this school(I'm one of the stupid one) luckily gonna leave this school in a few months time????????????

Worst school in the world. Horrible school. Full of horrible teachers except some. Horrible Head of School, Racist school that only favors the Chinese minorities of Malaysia. Never send your children to this school if you want to ruin your kids future. Horrible school quality. Absolutely stunned to see such a useless school.

My children have been studying in the private KDU schools and have done quite well in the academic and curricular aspects of the primary school. However, after moving my oldest child to the secondary school, I have learned that it is very much different than the primary school. Students there are bullied frequently for their skin colour instead of being treated equally. Many racial discriminatory words are used everyday which can bring one’s self esteem down. I have heard that students keep prohibited items with them at school, such as vapes. These items are kept by the students in their lockers where they escape suspicion from the spotchecks that are conducted. The students also act out towards teachers, taking advantage of their nonchalant exteriors which escalate to making some even cry. Many rules are being added such as not being able to stay in class during break times, which come with a suspension if you disregard the rule. Most disgusting is that the students go about doing many inappropriate things, that are not spoken about. Quite recently, molestation. More inappropriate activities are also happening in the school, not known by teachers. All in all, the private KDU secondary school may seem like a good choice of school to enroll your child in, but it is not. From the exterior it seems like a great school but once you enter, it is quite the opposite. Hopefully there will be action taken to make the school better than it currently is. I hope to see a change.

As a parent I must say that the primary school had done an outstanding job in providing my child the education he needs. However, otherwise is to be said about the secondary school (Private site). Very disappointing. A school of racial prejudice, and very poor teaching qualities. Teachers pluck punishments from the sky, mainly depending on race. There is no definite consequence towards a student's wrongdoing, and the teachers are absolutely bias. It is quite casual for non-native english speakers to be picked on by teachers. Even some of the most incorrigible students get put on a pedestal, and the adults turn a blind eye on them when they commit a misconduct. Why? Because it's all about the race! Terribly unfair and diabolical! Took my son out after he finished secondary 2. Parents, for both you and your child's sake, don't bother enrolling your child into secondary as soon as they are done with UPSR.

This has got to be one of the worst schools to ever exist. That may sound like I'm exaggerating but I really am not. The first issue and the most disturbing issue is the canteen. My child has complained to me several times that the utensils are not washed properly and sometimes, there's even food stuck on it which makes me sick to my stomach as I'm paying more than 20k a year for a school with has no sense of cleanliness. To add salt to wound, my child has had food poisoning after eating the school food. Next, the students are very racist to one another and that is not okay but the teachers don't seem to care about how the students are treating their peers and that to me is what makes a bad teacher and a bad school overall. Speaking of the teachers, their teaching methods are god awful. It is such a waste of money as my child isn't gaining any knowledge whatsoever from them. Moreover, the toilets are utterly disgusting. There is always this pungent smell that makes me want to die rather than breathing in whatever is causing it to smell like that. Other than that, the schools new absurd rules. 'No staying in class during break and lunch' honestly.. can that even be a rule? What is it that you think my child will do that could possibly offend and/or go against the school rules? Exactly, nothing. There are many more issues but 1 last thing I have to say is to NOT enroll your child in this school as i quickly pulled my child out of this school after a year! Truly terrible school, sorry to say but its the truth and the truth hurts sometimes.

i am writing this because i experienced it, and about this school it was a great school, environment was great and everything was good until the principle decided to invite new teacher which have no experience of teaching and student got blame because of inexperience teacher and the reputation of this school is getting bad also the fees is very expensive and even we pay that much we don't feel like we getting back what we are paying and if they really want to conduct some event please have some effort if not might as well don't conduct it. Furthermore the rules at the school is like you feel in a kindergarden and if you wanted your child to have a brighter future please don't send them to this school because is waste of money and time and please give the teacher who have more experience higher salary so the good teacher don't leave the school and stop inviting many inexperience teacher to teach the student.

The facilities are nice and enjoyable but the education your kids get isn't worth all the fees. Many bullying cases and the teachers don't pay much attention to the students. Some of the teachers don't even know more than half of the kids name in the class memorised, let alone if they grade their test properly.
