The International School of Kuala Lumpur

ISKL has been a wonderful memory in the life of our son as well as for our family. Every event here was made memorable as if there was no tomorrow, and it helped us understand to live our life even if it is about education and school. Our child spent one week on a Global Action Program (GAP) visit to Bali, Indonesia - a fantastic learning event spent together with friends, teachers, and villagers learning life skills. ISKL taught us the importance of giving back to society, which is essential learning for life! Thank you, ISKL, for everything!

Our entire ISKL experience has been unmatched - from admissions to the counselors, to the tech department, the student helpers, and the teachers - AMAZING!! It is refreshing to know and feel that the administration and teachers care about the students and their families. By far, this has been my son's best educational experience, and the online learning was just as efficient as being in the classroom. We will truly miss the entire ISKL family!

Our children attended Middle School for three years, and both of them had great experiences. Teachers are engaged with each student and have helped our children develop critical thinking capabilities, important traits to succeed. Our children immensely enjoyed activities they participated in, such as dance, drama, and music. Because ISKL's new campus is spacious and has many facilities, it allows students to have fun and express themselves more freely.

Our time at ISKL has been a four-year upbeat experience. Our youngest one started in Middle School (Grade 6), our middle one in Grade 7, and the oldest in High School (Grade 9). After four years, they are all in High School, and the oldest one is graduating. From the first introduction at the Admissions office, and the student representative leading us through the (old) campus, until the very last day, we have been so impressed with the atmosphere. The school, its program, the teachers, the staff, everyone, and everything aim to stimulate students to explore their qualities and interests and develop a wide range of skills. Teachers take responsibility for making every student understand what is taught, cultivating a positive attitude towards learning. There is a focus on inclusion and a strong sense of community inside the school and external community programs. To experience this level of education is a privilege, as is the learning environment at a top-notch campus at ISKL.

ISKL has been a dream come true. A school that is true to its values, culture, and learning. As parents, we wouldn’t have asked for a better school for our girls than ISKL. What’s more important about the school is its people. We have always seen smiling faces at ISKL (in person and virtually) who are always ready to support and help in the best manner possible.

The teachers have wonderfully dealt with every situation during these tough times with much resilience and patience. Learning is again at a different level altogether which is not restricted to the curriculum but makes the next generation ready for the future and think out of the box. It’s lifelong learning which truly helps the kids to survive and bloom irrespective of the place or situation. Thanks for a truly wonderful experience.

My daughter Asia B. has had the best experience in her recent school year at ISKL. We have no doubt whatsoever to highly recommend ISKL to any parents seeking the best education for their children and to obtain the all-rounded atmosphere that a growing child should have in their school environment.

Aside from giving a most impressive and world-class education, the staff at ISKL, which begin with administrators, admissions, and educators, are all very highly qualified and equally impressive. ISKL is the best top-notch international school in Kuala Lumpur and equivalent to an Ivy League school in the United States. My daughter and I are extremely disappointed to leave ISKL due to our transfer home to the United States. ISKL will always remain in our thoughts as a 5-star and an A+ academic establishment not only for their education, sports, and  many others ISKL has to offer.

Being new at this school is a nightmare. They promise everyone will fit in and be looked after but in reality come the third week of school most new kids still walking around by themselves. Kids say hello on the first day then pretend they don't know you  - maybe a few will talk to you out of 150 kids in the year group. It doesn't help that you barely ever have classes with the same people leaving you feeling very left out. I can easily say that so far this has been the worst international school I have ever attended and they have made the first few weeks of school some of the worst in my life. There is no community feel no matter what they say.

School runs fireworks without thinking about residents and buildings nearby. There is also a hospital nearby and they have never thought about how inconvenient, noise disruption, animals, the danger that they cause even they have had parties "evaluated". Still not cool that they keep deleting comments, reviews to avoid "negative" views on their school. The fireworks was so bloody loud like thunder that car alarms ran off, people were shocked and animals just went crazy. 

So not cool of the school to hold events without even thinking with their head that letting off fireworks is NOT necessary and will also cause other factors like environment issues. Here they are educating kids by these bunch of people who does harm and damage to community and environment. Great job.

Ever since it opened its new campus at Ampang Hilir, it is causing traffic to be worse than it already is. The guards who have no right to control traffic is stopping cars to let vehicles out of the school. I am more than happy to stop for pedestrians as it is their right of way, but with what they are doing with the vehicles, they act as if the road belongs to them.

We are moving to KL and this is the international school we were recommended to take. We submitted student profile to ISKL ahead of arrival. ISKL reviewed our material and we had a positive meeting, that we were highly encouraged to apply. We made the application, then got the disappointed evaluation result ONE MONTH LATER.  This is really brand-new experience for me, as I never knew any other international school would take such a time-consuming strategy for admission. One month on school hunting was wasted. I respect school's decision, but I really cannot appreciate the way they work.

I don't know staff or lecturer in this school, but I received a call from here, make me feel worse, no polite, how dare u as one member of the school act like this? U represent ur company image right? I strongly recommend people not to take this school

Our daughters attended ISKL from 1999 until they graduated in 2007 and 2009. My wife taught in the primary school from '99 'til 2013. We had a wonderful experience, and the girls received an excellent education. They both found their first years of university in the US to be very easy. ISKL prepared them well. The older earned an M.Ed. in ESOL at the Univ. of Florida; and the younger is finishing up a PhD in history, fully funded, at Vanderbilt University.

Very well organised international school, US syllabus. Dedicated and responsible teachers and staffs.

Attending this school was the best academic experience I've ever had. I am grateful for the three years I've been a part of this community, because I'm truly benefited as a person. My physical education teacher this year(in 7th grade) encouraged me and motivated me to improve my fitness, and in 6 months, I went from a below average student to an above average student(for ex. 35 to 62 in pacer & 3:30 sec plank). However I didn't just improve the scores, but I gained a new love for fitness and PE. My French teacher saw elegance, intelligence and brilliance in me when I kept doubting myself. My humanities pushed me from the start because she saw potential in me, and I ended up pushing myself because I already excelled. All of my teachers at iskl were amazing, but so were the students. Everyone has atleast one friend. I never noticed a single student in the school who had no friends. I was in an awesome 11 person group of close friends. If you go to ISKL, you will likely find yourself in a friendship group. Bullying was never a problem for me neither is it a problem for most people in this school, because we are constantly reminded and taught to be great people. Additionally, ISKL cares about the problems taking place in the world, and regularly plan days/events like TAG days and Middle school dances 4 times a year to raise money for developing disease research centers in poor countries, and animal shelters like the SPCA. If you want to help the world, learn and improve in all ways while having fun (and a teeny little bit of stress and anxiety), join this school. Last but not least, in this school I got to go on a few memorable, even LIFE changing field trips. Malacca, Ipoh, basically all the beautiful locations in Malaysia. Though the field trips that opened my eyes to the screaming beauty of nature.. were the Malaysia week trips. You have say in where you go, and you get to go to a beautiful location for a week, and dedicate your focus to nature. One week of adventure, exploration, new experiences, persevering and pure beauty. If my giant review hasn't convinced anyone who's interested in attending ISKL that they/you should, I don't know what will.

BEST! SCHOOL! EVER!

Such a great school I attended from 2009-2012. The students and staff are always so friendly. I would say it's the best school I've been to. I would love to go back.

Man, the best school EVER!!!

What I love most about this quaint cafe at my daughters’ school ISKL are their servers, in particular Eduardo Catimbang and Richard.

Richard would always greet me when he sees me even from afar when he’s in the midst of running an errand outside the cafe.

Eduardo whom my girls and I fondly call Edward, is one the most efficient servers I have ever met in the 47 years of my life. He mans the cafe 80% of the time and from morning till late evening, he negotiates the cash register, stamping of loyalty cards, making the coffees/chocolates/green tea shakes all by himself and always with a warm sweet smile. If I were to ever have a cafe of my own, I would hire Edward in a heart beat and he would be my most treasured employee.

Pretend beanz is sooo fortunate to have them. Having only been in KL for ten months now, just coming into ISKL pretax and beanz and being served by these boys bring a warmth to the start of a good day in KL

This is the best International School in my opinion, the staff and teachers are very helpful and kind.Every one is treated with respect from the cleaners to the staff.The culture of the school is brilliant, it brings up well educated, polite and kind children.I would definitely recommend this school to any parent or student.

We have four children at ISKL and they absolutely love school! We couldn't be happier with ISKL, the teachers, the student body and the programs.

ISKL consistently strives to make school an engaging, welcoming place for all students. Even during this challenging first year at the new campus the school has continued to provide a range of educational and social opportunities so that each child can find their niche. My 2 children are proud graduates of the school and we will be forever grateful to the sense of community we experienced here.
